May 5, 2002: A Request

We are amazed at how little we must do before leaving town. When the stakes are this high and the perspective has shifted so dramatically, very little else seems important. Neighbors have agreed to help water our little tree and pass on mail. I must work out details of being away from work additional time and how I can manage that without putting my job or insurance at risk and while being fair to my boss and co-workers who have been so gracious already. But otherwise, few details. There is one thing we would love to take: a laptop. Kinsey loves computer games; I have some thoughts of things becoming stable enough that I could do some real work, and then there's keeping up with her website and the emails. Anyone have any ideas of how/where we might get one to borrow or inexpensively?
